Sony shows its First 4k Video Camcorder, the FDR-AX100 at CES 2014
2014-01-06
hello on the west wait for cnet here at
CES 2014 where we've seen a lot of 4k
TVs but this is a 4k camcorder let's
take a look so this is Sony's first 4k
camcorder that's not aimed at people who
basically are full-time video
professionals it's called the FDR ax100
and it's got a 1 inch sensor and shoots
4k at either 24 or 30 frames per second
it is pretty chunky so it's pushing the
boundaries of portability but it feels
quite comfy to hold it's got a 12 x
optical zoom and I'm hopeful that the
picture quality you get from this will
be really good one thing to bear in mind
is that unless you're very wealthy you
probably don't have a 4k TV on which to
view the beautiful 4k footage that
you've recorded using this camcorder on
the other hand you can think about this
as future proofing so if maybe you're
thinking of getting a 4k TV in the next
few years you've got something that will
support it eventually it's coming out
early March it's going to cost two
thousand dollars would you buy one of
these let me know I'm the restaurant for
