Speck's new Presidio Series iPhone 7 cases get slimmer, more protective

2016-09-07
hey this is David Carnot for cnet.com and I'm here with the new spec presidio serious cases for the iPhone 7 iPhone 7 plus spec makes some of the most popular cases for the iPhone and for the launch of the iPhone 7 it's not only changed the name of its core case line but its upgrade the design making the cases thinner and more protective also as you can see the hole on the back of the camera is larger to accommodate the larger dual lens design of the new iPhone there are cutouts for the dual speakers on the bottom of the iPhone but there's no cutout for the headphone jack because well there is no headphone jack in this new model the case does fit an iPhone 6 or success the iPhone 7 is basically the same size but you can't access the headphone jack so you'd have to use a bluetooth headphone conversely the only thing preventing you from using an iPhone 6s case with an iPhone 7 is the size of the cases camera hole and anything that might cover the second speaker these new presidio cases are 20% slimmer than specs earlier CandyShell cases and specs says thanks to a new inner layer of shock absorbing material which it calls impact iam it's 52 percent more protective the grip inked and wallet versions of the case have been dropped tested to ten feet while the clear versions are dropped tested to eight feet prices start at $40 for the iPhone 7 cases and go all the way up to $50 for the iPhone 7 plus cases that's pretty pricey but these are good cases and should come down a price after the phones have been out for a while I'm David Carr noise that's a look at a new iPhone 7 case thanks for watching
