this is Spiro a robotic ball that
bounced onto the scene as not much more
than a fun prototype at this very show
two years ago after the first CES we use
that momentum and all the hype and the
media and the customer you know early
orders to go out and raise more money
more money to the tune of five million
dollars but equally as important CES has
gotten them valuable connections you get
so many people through that you can't
help to have a meaningful conversation
with someone that can impact the future
success of your business case in point
Spiro now retails at major chains like
brookstone Apple target in barnes and
noble for 129 dollars the impression of
CES is always Samsung it's all the giant
tvs but the fact is there's startups
everywhere throughout CS and it's really
important for them they make great
contacts they get great exposure and
actually they're making a lot of the
most interesting products products like
happy fork a fork that vibrates if you
take more than one bite every 10 seconds
that's what the happy is about to
help you lose weight and to help you so
it'll slowly the startup presence here
at CES is bigger than in recent years in
fact five percent of companies showing
here are considered startups and if CES
is proven to bring some of those company
success you can count on that startup
presence growing year after year in Las
Vegas on cars Tsuboi cnet.com for CBS
