hi this is Bryan Bennett for cnet.com
and today we're taking a first look at
the t-mobile mytouch q by Huawei this
very affordable android smartphone costs
4999 and will arrive on t-mobile august
eighth so what do you get for the low
price actually quite a bit the mytouch q
runs android 2 dot 3 gingerbread sorry
no cutting edge for dot one jellybean or
four da dough ice cream sandwich here
powered by a 1.4 g hurts single core cpu
other features include a 4 inch LCD
screen 5 megapixel camera connection to
t mobile's 4g hspa+ data network a long
time might touch phone staple is the
genius voice command feature that uses
nuance software to accomplish series
style searches and phone functions above
the screen is a 0.3 megapixel front
facing camera below the display are for
capacitive buttons 34 standard android
functions menu home and back the fourth
launches t-mobile's genius voice command
feature the side holds a micro USB port
and tiny volume buttons on top of the
phone are a power key and 3.5 millimeter
headphone jack on the right edge is a
dedicated camera button sliding open the
mytouch q reveals its full row qwerty
keyboard now right off the bat there are
some things I don't like about the
t-mobile mytouch q weighing six point
five ounces and over half an inch thick
it's big and heavy the dedicated camera
button launches the camera app but
doesn't wake the phone if it's in sleep
mode I'm not a fan of the keyboard
either but I suppose I'm spoiled by the
current king of Android QWERTYs the
motorola droid for performance also
feels a bit sluggish i'm brian bennett
