Tactus Phorm iPad case gives you a physical keyboard guide when you want it
2015-02-12
hello everybody I'm Lynne LaForce CNET
and today we're going to check out an
interesting mobile accessory called
forum by Texas Technology at first
glance forum looks like just any other
iPad case with a screen protector but if
you push this big toggle in the back
here certain areas of the screen will
fill the fluid and form a physical
keyboard guide the idea is to give users
tactical feedback while typing which
should improve accuracy and increase
productivity this microfluidic
technology doesn't leak and it doesn't
require extra battery power the buttons
overlay your iPads digital keyboard and
rise above its surface they come off
clear and are soft to the touch and are
easy to press a couple of years ago they
developed a prototype for mobile phones
with this bubbling keyboard built into
the screens and it's still working on
this concept with tablets but the form
is a consumer-ready product the mini
iPad case is available now for presale
for a hundred and forty nine dollars
with a pre-order promo price at $99
units will ship out later this summer
and interested buyers can also sign up
for a waitlist for the iPhone 6 plus
case which is currently in development
again I'm Lynne and you've been checking
out the forum iPad case
