I'm a planner so scrolling through my friends Foursquare check-ins or location details on facebook doesn't do me much good I needed to know an hour ago or before if there is any hope of meeting up with them that's where a new app called forecast comes in this free smartphone download lets you choose a location and set a time in the future for where you're going to be hanging out that could be later in the day the week or even in the year right now I'm going to let my friends know that I'll be stopping by neighborhood pizza joint at about seven o'clock i'll add a 140 character description of the plan and then share it with my network of friends within forecast you can also get the word out through facebook and twitter you'll definitely get more out of this app if you have a large circle of friends that way more people will know what you're up to and we'll be able to meet you out making plans has never been so hassled free in San Francisco I'm Kara Tsuboi cnet.com for CBS News
