you don't have to carry the burden of a
New Year's resolution on your own I'm
Bridget Carey and in this special
edition of CNET update learn about the
tech that can help keep you on track to
meet your goals around January we all
resolve to get more fit and eat
healthier and then we lose the
motivation by February but if you need
an extra push this year go for a fitness
tracking wristband
there are plenty to try but you're
probably best off with a Fitbit flex or
the Fitbit force the wrist strap is
lightweight in a track step sleep and
calories burned it has direct syncing
for both iPhones and androids so you can
read your progress on the app and you
can see if you're meeting your goals by
quickly glancing at the band the Fitbit
flex comes in several colors for $100
but if you want one that has a screen
that also tells the time and gives you
instant readings and get the Fitbit
force for an extra $30 you can take
fitness motivation to the next level
with the go g play it's a gaming system
you attach to gym equipment like a
treadmill bike or elliptical machine in
order to beat the games you have to keep
moving the $100 system includes two
controllers and a small motion tracker
they use bluetooth the controllers slide
on handlebars of the machine but if
you're not using handlebars then you can
instead hold batons the tracker can clip
to a pocket or a belt you need an iphone
or ipad to play the games the go g play
app has 12 games to spice up your gym
time if buying gadgets isn't your thing
but you want an after this more than
just track your steps you want to look
at fit star it has workout instructional
videos but it also tailors the workout
to your needs based on how well you're
doing just be sure to give it honest
answers it's a free app but you can
unlock more features for $30 a year if
your goal is to get more organized and
tidy you don't have to start flipping
through The Container Store catalog get
help with the housework using the neato
15 signature pro that's right I didn't
say Roomba you all know the Roomba and
it's a fine machine
but the neato is a couple of hundred
dollars cheaper than the competition it
does a better job of picking up hair and
it doesn't ram into your furniture like
the Roomba because it has a sensor on
the top to avoid obstacles in the room
it's much more classy you can get
reminders on common household chores and
annual maintenance work with the app
Brite nest you can also get more
organized by using an app like Evernote
