morning welcome I'm Brian Cooley and welcome to the 2013 best of CES awards presented by cnn.com and I'm Molly Wood these are as you know the official Awards of the Consumer Electronic Show as determined by the editors and the users of CX but users like you are part of this we have nine categories this year which we're going to name but we feel as a team are the best product cities here at this very important show and then we will name just one of those products the Best in Show as well as reveal the People's Voice winner that's the product that our C net users voted the absolute best before we get started if you're here representing any of the companies whose product wins in a category make your way to the riser here to the right scene that's Bridget Carey is waiting there has the award to present you and that's also where the press and media photography and video is taking place that's right so make sure that you give a little pause so that your pictures look absolutely beautiful if you tell us two flashes soup flashes wait four to five till your award down so you don't get any glare all right details with that let's go ahead and get started the first category that we will award this year is car tech car technology and the nominees here near and dear to my heart are the Chevrolet's MyLink second generation 2.0 we're also giving a nod to Garmin's k2 infotainment platform for cars and also to Ford's app link the 2013 generation going forwards give it Chevy we've got Chevrolet here congratulations make your way on up here Bridget will hook you up stick Mike here emerging tech these are the new products that have come out that all from represent a new category of tech and we may not even seen before and the nominees and emerging technology include the Tobey Rex the Fulton wireless charging technology and 3d systems cube X 3d printer you can see the wide variety of what's going on there and the winner in the emerging tech category is not going away boy they didn't come unprepared wait a minute it's wearable tech this printer does it all they made the basketball which is bigger than the printer not sure how that works so it's like you know giving this to a very large baby all right the next category the we'll award this year is gaming gaming category nominees here include invidious project sealed all-in-one clamshell prototype we've got the Razer edge accessory and gaming tablet concept and Toshiba's Cosme o X 875 gaming laptop all right the winner in the gaming category is the razor's razor razor edge come on up guys and they've got one with them yeah it'll hold that up as they walk up there you go guys yeah hold that high very cool controllers and clip-ons is really a big part of the story on that thing yeah absolutely and the ability to detach and be sort of assemble all right moving up right along the next category that we will award a best of CES award in is home theater and audio a CES staple that's right goes way back to the early days but stays fresh the nominees and home theater and audio include physios 5.1 sound bar technology and pokes Woodburn wireless speaker and the winner in the home theater and audio category is physios 5.1 sound bar super busy Oh congratulations Vizio and sound bars I think are making a real comeback in that home theater category they're simple elegant sounding hate all the wires and the rear surround speakers I like that okay our next award category is mobile mobile technology that of course is probably the biggest hot button in tech these days here's the nominees from 2013 CES in mobile area they include Sony's Xperia Z smartphone yota devices yotaphone in a relationship to biota and the globe attract track dot luggage tracking device but the winner in the mobile category is the yo 10 devices yotaphone a phone with a color LCD on the front and then what Ian Khama back yank on the back so if you have something you need to stay up there like your mobile boarding pass right right your phone doesn't movie tickets anything scannable like our party invite very cool very cool graduations to the yoader devices watch the next category will award here today is networking and storage the nominees in networking and storage for the 2013 CES include busy crowd by the way D Lakes DGL 5500 gaming router we've got Seagate wireless plus technology sort of a wireless mobile nav network attached storage and Lowe's iris smart kit home automation platform the big winner in the networking and storage category is the Seagate wireless plus portable mass drive I like 4G pocket hotspot meets portable garage needs portable drive and especially with with SSD drives populating notebooks more and more I think that portable storage and any additional storage yeah you get that sailing used to enjoy with the old drive it's a must-have congratulations congratulations to get the next category we'll award this year is pcs and tablets and the nominees in the PC and tablet category are as far as we've got the ax soos transformer all-in-one Lenovo's horizon 27-inch table PC and lenovo's yo latest in their yoga lines a yoga IdeaPad 11s the winner of the PC and tablets category is the Lenovo horizon 27-inch table PC fight it being pretty good size they brought they you don't know it was portable anybody neighbors please don't drop that no no that won't hurt me there we go I got a ton of buzz this yeah I love it when they're excited all right the next category that will award this year is TVs televisions this really is the ultimate mainstay of CES and the one you see the most of the nominees are in the television category we've got LG is 55 PM 9700 OLED television finally bringing the OLED revolution to market imminently we've got Samsung's UN 85 s9 Ultra HD or 4k television on that big easel stand and we have Panasonic's ZT 60 plasma showing plasma still has really good legs and the winner in the TV category is I'm excited the Samsung you and the 85 s 4k Ultra HD TV I love that decide it's all the let's furniture as it is telling it yes modern the next category when they didn't hold that over their head fancy large no no I'm stuck disappointing they didn't bring in a giant an army yeah army alright moving along the next category will award this year is a new one wearable and health tech totally new for us and for many of us here at the show the nominees in wearable and health here's interesting field the Fitbit flex they're going to a bracelet technology we've got the basis bands also part of this fitness and body monitoring technology the Martian passport watch we need to go to Mars anymore they apparently came here we've got the music's m100 SmartGlass smartphone extension technologies and happy labs happy fork and the winner in the wearable and health check category is the Fitbit flex of course heading spark here on a session yesterday about the next interface being you and this is a really good example of that this trend this was a huge trend at the show sort of an underlying sub-genre they move from an LM too big deal the quantified self yes all right those are main categories everyone now we crank up the heat as we turn to our special awards beginning with the People's Voice this is where the voting is open to the entire CNET audience able to vote online until literally just like about an hour ago for any of the nominees you've seen so far obviously doesn't matter if they want a category or not because that wasn't known until just now this is on our entire feet alright let's have a look at the results then in third place was the Seagate wireless plus nice work storage is important to everyone coming in at second according to see net users on the Garmin k2 infotainment platform for vehicles and the winner of the 2013 best of CES People's Voice award is razor razor edge boom congratulations again razor and they've got different delegates to accept no bad way to fit way to plan ahead you do like an army over here well they can carry the lenovo TV arra alright folks and that gets us right to the very end of our awards the best one is now remaining that leaves a single award for the best of CES 2013 the best of show it signifies the most impressive product we've seen of any of the winners here any of the nominees here according to the editors it's in this is among our winners in the categories we then do a distillation of you will to the absolute best that's right so that most sought after sought after honor at CES this year goes to and by the way out of 28 outstanding finalists and the winners that came out of that very competitive field we're just dragging it out we're gonna go to break and tell you for a cocktail looking all right the winner of the put all your games or we have our own launcher program as well right on your television screen play in the living room watch Netflix do whatever you want and now is this a prototype or is it shipping
