2013-10-02
hey guys this is eric franklin from cnet com I'm in San Francisco and let's say you're looking to get into Windows 8.1 but you don't want a large tablet or a large laptop well dell may have an answer for you in its venue 8 pro it's an 8-inch tablet running Windows 8.1 the tablet will be priced at 299 dollars with 32 gigabytes of storage with a 64 gigabyte version also available for a higher yet unannounced price the tablet houses a bay trail processor includes a 1280 x 800 resolution IPS screen 2 gigabytes of ram a full-size SD card slot and features microUSB charging the 8 pro is 0.35 inch thick and weighs 0.9 pounds there's a front-facing 1.2 megapixel camera and a 5-megapixel back camera despite running Windows 8.1 the venue pro looks and feels very much like an Android tablet the windows button sits on the top edge of the tablet when held vertically and it's somewhat unexpected placement took a bit of getting used to the back texture is this groove wave pattern that felt nice on my hands and seem to provide just enough extra grip as to not be a wasted effort look for more on the Dell Venue 8 Pro soon i'm eric franklin and this has been a first look at the Dell Venue 8 Pro
