if you're a music geek looking for a
pair of headphones that won't change the
way your music sounds will these should
be on your list hey it's Justin you from
CNET this is a first look at the cost
Pro 4's headphones so these are actually
studio monitor headphones which means
they're meant to be used by audio
professionals that's people like audio
engineers producers musicians and anyone
else that demands pure sonic accuracy
but there's already a lot of classic
reference headphones out there like the
audio technica ath m50 the sony MDR
seven five zero six a--'s and the
sennheiser HD 280 s that have proven
themselves worthwhile buys over the
course of the last several decades so
before I get into how the pro 4's sounds
let's take a look at the build in
contrast to the older headphones I just
mentioned these have a really modern
aesthetic that pushes away from those
gaudy bright colors so many headphones
have today instead opting for a more
subtle approach with important details
like memory foam ear cups and super
lightweight materials another key
feature to note is that this comes with
a detachable coiled cable that you can
actually plug into either side of the
ear cups you can also daisy chain
another pair of headphones into the jack
you're not using so basically two people
can listen to a single audio source at
the same time so how do these measure up
compared to the competition in terms of
sound quality well their natural
resonance worked really well for
instrument driven music but as expected
pop music and other songs with
artificial tones just don't have that
same vigor as competing headsets like
the audio technica and 50s if you're
someone that appreciates a range of
versatile genres on your iPod you may be
more satisfied with a sound profile like
those n 50s on the other hand if you go
into a listening experience prepared to
hear your music exactly the way the
production team intended while the pro
for s headphones won't disappoint
especially when you hear about all the
accessories that come with it like this
quarter inch adapter and carrying case
you can read more details about that and
more in my full review on CNET but
that's going to do it for this video I'm
Justin you you just took a first look at
the cost pro for s headphones thanks for
watching
