hello karaoke fans I'm Luke Westway for
CNET's here at CES 2013 checking out the
Philips AEA 7100 Star Maker so this is
pretty simple what you've got is an 8
watt speaker and a microphone and this
free app which is the Star Maker app
plugs into the top of the speaker now
the app itself is free so what you're
paying for is all the extra kit it's not
too hard to use you get a list of songs
on the app here it's running on an iPad
but I assume you could also use it for
an iPhone iPod touch anything iOS
basically you choose a song you set it
to record it plays through the speaker
and you sing along in the microphone the
microphone communicates with the speaker
via bluetooth if you think you can do
better than all of your favorite pop
stars you can upload your vocal
creations to Facebook and share them
with your friends who I'm sure will be
very very happy to hear your efforts
it's quite an expensive way of getting
your karaoke kicks is certainly more
pricey than just singing along to the
radio it costs one hundred and eighty
dollars but the good news is that you
can buy it now from the Apple store so
that's everything you need to know let
us know whether you would have the guts
to use this product
I'm Luis Rey for CNET and this is the
Philips AE a 70 100 Star Maker now if
you'll excuse me
