Microsoft has another affordable Lumia
Windows Phone to add to its
ever-increasing lineup in the form of
this the Lumia 640 has certainly no
escaping that it's part of the Lumia
line as it shares the same one-piece
plastic design seen on almost the entire
range it's reasonably attractive for a
lower-end phone and it certainly it
feels like it can take a few knocks that
back panel is removable too so you can
swap it for a fresh one when it starts
to get a bit battered the 5-inch display
has a 720p resolution yes that's not a
huge amount of pixels but acceptable
given this low price the display is at
least perfectly sharp enough to show off
your everyday essentials like Facebook
and Instagram perfectly well it's
running the latest Windows Phone 8.1
software made up of a large colorful
tiles showing live information Windows
Phone is easy to navigate and although
the app store still received new apps
far later than iOS or Android if it gets
them at all but most of the big names
like Netflix Spotify and what's up are
already there it's powered by a 1.2
gigahertz quad-core processor which is
more than enough to let you get through
most tasks without any trouble
navigating around the windows interface
was extremely Swift with none of the
annoying lag that often hints at a
struggling processor around the back is
an 8 megapixel camera which is more than
capable of capturing some artsy
Instagram snaps of your food however the
camera on the front has only one
megapixel which is a disappointingly low
resolution this shouldn't be a phone to
buy if you're a selfie obsessive like me
the Lumia 640 has plenty going through
it with its phone design decent screen
and of course it's low price if you
after a cheap phone for the everyday
essentials and you want something a
little bit different to the slew of
Android phones knocking about the 640 is
well worth a look
