virtual reality is a truly
transformative experience especially for
PC gamers but it comes at a price not
only do you need an expensive VR headset
you also need just the right kind of
desktop computer so we've tested and
reviewed about nine different VR ready
pcs to date and this second batch covers
everything from slim thousand our
systems to massive desktop hogging
towers that run $2,500 or more the Acer
predator g6 looks like a tank turret
from some sort of futuristic sci-fi
vehicle performance in this high-end
configuration it's great and it's a very
distinct look to be sure but I do it
should have more ports on the front
panel now the Alienware x51 is a very
flexible small form factor desktop
that's been around for a few years
bundled with an oculus you can now get a
version that hits the minimum specs for
VR for just $9.99 the AV a direct avatar
also has a very distinct look the side
panel comes off easily for upgrades it's
got a lot of fans inside for good
airflow and the top panel has a lot of
easy to access ports for my favorite
feature is the VR panel on the front for
plugging in your headset without digging
around the back of the system if you're
looking for something a little more
subtle the velocity Microraptor is a
plain black box that just disappears
into the background there's a ton of
space inside for more storage or a
second GPU and it also has that very
cool VR connection panel in the front
now most of these systems should offer
newly announced parts of Intel and
NVIDIA soon though consider spending a
little bit more now to make sure your
future proof for the next generation of
VR games
