just how slim can laptops get well we've got a new contender on the field thanks to the HP spectre at ten point four millimeters it's the thinnest clamshell laptop ever but that's only one of the current crop of very skinny laptops none of which bulge past 15 millimeters now a slim laptop used to mean something like the macbook air but that 13-inch classic is 17 millimeters thick it's really kind of a beast compared to systems like the spectre or the HP elitebook folio even Apple has seen the need to slim down some more and the newer 12-inch MacBook is just 13 millimeters thick and the super some laptops don't skimp on features either some like the spectre the Dell XPS 13 had full core i series processors while the razorblade stealth has an insane multicolored backlit keyboard you want 4k screens and these things no problem there's only one thing you're going to have to get used to once you get a laptop down to about 12 or 13 millimeters thick there's really only room for a couple of USB type-c ports so to plug in any USB sticks or other accessories you're going to need an adapter and if you need some more flexibility we even found a convertible that fits the bill Lenovo's yoga 900 s has a 360 degree hinge but it's just twelve point eight millimeters thick you
