Thirsty for data: Why family data plans make sense
2015-08-17
I'm Sheamus burn from cnet and if your
family's thirsty for data this video is
for you I'm going to explain the
difference between a typical setup where
every device in your house has its own
data plan and then you want your family
plans and how they could save you money
how do these days really is a lot like
water you never want to live without it
everybody in the modern world absolutely
needs it in a typical setup you might
have for family members each with their
own glass of data now some might be
slightly larger than others but in the
end what you get is what you get here we
have a boring dad he's all business it's
just a little bit of email a little bit
of a better documents a few attachments
look it's really it's gonna be an easy
month for dad no problem mom she's a
designer she works with a lot of photos
she's posting a lot of images into her
colleagues and social man looking a lot
of image galleries but look she's gonna
be fine really in the end of the month
then we have their two daughters they
are all over social all day they're
playing games there aren't you chip it's
really isn't gonna last yeah that's it
it's over I've done they're out of data
but it's only halfway through the month
what are they gonna do look then started
right here they're not allowed to have
it that's in a separate part of the
whole account if they want more more
water they can't have any of this if you
want more than under a standard setup
you have to buy yourself a new bottle of
data and you can't share this data with
anybody else you top yourself up and if
you didn't need all of the data then
that's just bad luck and that was a ten
dollar bottle of data switch to a new
family plan and suddenly you have one
big jug of data to pour from dad takes
his little sips mum has enough to get
her through the month and the kids can
keep topping up all month long it is one
jug one price
just pick the right size joke to suit
your family to sum up check your monthly
bills right now and see how much you're
paying all up for your data and whether
a family plan might suit well to get
that delicious data where it's needed
most to find out more news reviews and
how to's don't forget to check out cnet
