hi I'm Megan bulletin 14 and appliances
here with the Samsung smart cam HD pro
this little camera is designed to
compete directly with the Dropcam pro it
costs one hundred and eighty nine
dollars compared to the dropcam's 199
and offers a lot of the same features
the first thing you'll notice about the
Samsung model in comparison to the
Dropcam pro is that it looks kind of
like a smoke detector with the cheap
plastic base the Dropcam is a lot more
substantial even though it's more
streamlined I just like the way it looks
and feels a lot better as far as
features are concerned though I think
the Samsung is pretty competitive with
the Dropcam it offers a lot of the same
things the same 1080p resolution but one
thing I really like about the Samsung
model that the Dropcam Pro doesn't offer
is local storage if you have an SD card
you can store directly onto that whereas
the Dropcam is all remote storage well I
don't think the Samsung app looks as
nice as dropcam's
it offers more hands-on options you can
select a lullabye modes and use this as
a baby monitor you can change the
brightness you can do two-way audio so
the app seems to offer more options but
the design is a little bit worse than
the Dropcam Pro well we did notice some
lag time with both of the cameras the
Samsung tended to have a shorter lag
time on average but I did also notice
that the video quality wasn't quite as
sharp or crisp as I saw on the Dropcam
pro so while you get a shorter lag time
your video quality is a little bit worse
so all in all this is a great camera and
it's a great competitor for the Dropcam
pro but they really need to work on the
design of the camera the design of the
app and their video quality to make it
as good as the Dropcam pro that's why
I'd still recommend spending the I
certain bucks and getting the Dropcam
pro instead of the Samsung thanks for
watching I'm Megan Willerton for
