new year and a new Wemo switch namely
the new Belkin Wemo mini it's a much
smaller version of the original app
enabled switch and the idea is that you
can plug one in without blocking the
adjacent outlets it's got a lower price
point - it's down to $35 each which
makes it one of the more competitive
options it works with multiple platforms
those platforms include Amazon's Alexa
and Google home also if - the free
online automation service a lot of neat
ways to turn things on and off remotely
in your smart home however it doesn't
work with apple homekit that's kind of a
surprise we thought it might add in
homekit compatibility still this is a
pretty well connected smart plug that
has a lot to offer if you're looking to
learn about home automation or get your
feet wet with turning things on and off
remotely if you got an Amazon echo or a
Google home smart speaker for Christmas
I think it's a great follow up purchase
because both of those can control it
using voice commands but if you were
hoping for Siri compatibility this time
around you're probably disappointed and
you want to go instead to something like
the AI home smart plug or the I devices
switch both of which will work with Siri
