TomTom's Bandit camera uses sensor smarts to solve editing headaches

there are many action cabs around and
they all capture video just fine but
sharing your adventures with other
people still requires a bit of editing
effort so what happens is you end up
with all these clips but no one ever
sees them
TomTom's bandit solves this by letting
the camera and a mobile app do the
editing for you and all it takes is a
shake inside here are GPS and motion
sensors that capture your speed g-force
altitude rotation and even a heart rate
if you're wearing a separate Bluetooth
heart rate monitor it uses this
information to pick out potential
highlights in your clips or you can tag
highlights with this button or do it in
playback on your phone give your phone a
shake and it puts those highlights into
a movie the clips can be moved around
and adjusted once you like what you've
got the camera creates your movie and
it's ready to share this easy editing is
the standout feature for this $400
camera but it also turns out
good-looking video and has several
design features that's separated from
others like it's easy to use controls a
splash proof body that can be made
waterproof to 50 meters by swapping out
the lens cap and this rotating quick
release mount and there's also a GoPro
mount included so that you can use it
with all of their mounts and when it
comes time to charge the battery or
transfer your clips you just pull out
the hole inside and plug it into a USB
port you can read the full review on
cnet.com but with the easy editing and
clever design features this is a pretty
strong camera to handle both capture and
editing I'm Josh Goldman we've seen it
and that's a quick look at the tomtom
bandit
