Twitter live streaming (sort of) comes to iOS, Android (CNET Update)
2016-06-16
live free from Twitter sort of Twitter
is updating its iOS and Android F to
allow anyone to livestream using
periscope you'll see a new option when
you go to compose a tweet next to the
photo and video options you'll see a
live button when you click it Twitter
bounces you out of Twitter and into the
periscope app then you can live stream
on periscope like you're used to when
you are done streaming guess what you're
still stuck in the periscope app you are
not brought back to the Twitter app
which is the app where you started this
whole thing in the first place also if
you do not have the periscope app
installed you'll see a little message
asking you to download it this is
definitely not the same as Facebook live
video when you go to update your status
on Facebook there's the option to share
a live video from there you're greeted
with a little welcome screen explaining
you're about to broadcast something to
the whole wide world and then you can go
live using the Facebook app when you're
done streaming on Facebook you're sent
back to your news feed their Twitter
approach to live-streaming looks a bit
disjointed compared to Facebook's the
periscope and Twitter experiences are
still two distinct things which might be
unappealing to some that's it for this
tech news update I'm Maya's akhtar and
