Samsung has launched the s6 and the s6
edge and is promising a new refined
interface so let's take a closer look at
the software on both of these phones so
one thing you'll notice straightaway is
that apps are now grouped by the company
that makes them for example googles apps
are all found in this folder and
Microsoft's can all be found here indeed
it's interesting to see that Microsoft
has put some of its own apps on here so
you get pre-loaded skype you also get
access to one drive which is Microsoft's
cloud storage service and OneNote which
is Microsoft collaborative note-taking
software so Samsung's sometimes
confusing multi window app is still here
but now you access it from the screen
where you see your recent apps so you
tap this icon here and there you go you
can see two apps at once so there are
loads and those are things you can do
with Samsung's phones but one of the
downsides days that sometimes the menus
can feel a little bit overwhelming so to
counter that Samsung has added more text
so instead of just icons now throughout
the phone you will find that there are
actual text prompts as to what icons
actually do finally one thing I want to
call out is how you actually use the
curved edges of the Essex edge because
they are not just cosmetic so if you
swipe in from the top here you get a
list of your favorite contacts and they
are color coded as well so it's good to
see Samsung making an effort to keep
things more simple let us know what you
think and check out senior calm / mwc
for much much more
you
