over 600 million people use the messaging app whatsapp to communicate with their friends every day but what you may not know is that whatsapp now allows you to chat in your computer browser here's how the first thing to know is that browser access only works using Google's Chrome browser so download it if you don't have it and open it up and visit web.whatsapp.com here you'll see a QR code and instructions on how to scan that code with your phone depending on what operating system you're running you'll notice that the iPhone isn't listed here unfortunately it's not currently supported for this trick now after scanning the code into whatsapp on your phone your messages will magically appear on both your phone and in your browser the look is a lot like what you used to seeing on the app and you can send emojis photos and voice notes just like you're used to now keep in mind that whatsapp will keep you logged into this computer until you sign out using the three dots up here so if you're using a public computer or a shared computer be aware that someone could hijack your account so be careful so there you go that's how to get whatsapp running on your computer it's a great way to chat with friends at work without looking at your phone and being totally obvious that you're a horrible employee for more tips like this head over centcom / how-to for CNN I'm Donal Bell you
