2016-10-28
mine might be saved by pornhub let's back up a little and talk about the demise of vine Twitter bought the company back in 2012 to the tune of 30 million dollars I started off as a place to share short six-second videos that would loop it was described as the Twitter of video short form video content that was easily digestible and not too much time vine was a top app in the Apple App Store over the course of vines life new internet stars were born through the service vine did not really change too much over its short life the biggest change occurred earlier this year when vine announced it would allow some users to upload videos up to 140 seconds long other partners were able to upload videos that lasted up to 10 minutes fast-forward to this week and vine announced its mobile app was going bye-bye a blog post said in the coming months vine will be discontinuing the mobile app there was no exact timetable when the app would no longer exist though however vine said that any videos made using vine will still be accessible online users of vine will receive notifications if anything else changes now as every new story goes it's time to talk about pornhub and what is likely a publicity stunt pornhub VP Corey price offered to purchase vine from Twitter price says that if his company obtains vine vine will be restored back to its NSFW glory price also says six seconds is more than enough time for most people to enjoy themselves well Twitter take the bait is the offer even serious I'm gonna let them sort it out anyway that's it for this tech news update I'm Aya's Akhtar and you can stay on top of the biggest stories at cnet.com slash
