Vizio M series 2016: Midrange TV with a free tablet
2016-07-22
this is Vizio m-series the successor to
cnet's highest-rated TV of 2015 I expect
the new version seen here in a 55 inch
size to perform very well for the price
I'll have to wait to review one to see
just how good it is like the p-series
the M offers 4k resolution and is
compatible with high dynamic range video
content which promises to really improve
image quality videos HD our TVs
currently work dolby vision content from
netflix and vudu although they don't
support amazon streaming at all a
software update coming by the end of the
summer for the M&P series will allow
them to work with external HD our
devices to like 4k blu-ray players that
support the HDR 10 former beyond picture
quality sets offer a unique feature they
come with a free Android tablet as well
as a traditional standard TV remote the
tablet replaces a standard smart TV
system with apps for streaming video
instead of browsing an on-screen menu
you'll access Netflix and other apps on
the tablet or your phone and cast them
to the TV just like a google chromecast
the tablet included with the m-series
looks very similar to one included with
p-series but offers a lower resolution
screen less memory in a somewhat slower
processor you weren't big fans of the
caste system in our p series of view we
recommend connecting a separate
streaming device like a roku or Apple TV
instead I'm David Katz far this has been
a preview of the 2016 Vizio m-series
check out cnet soon for a full review
