Vizio's sound stand only so-so

2014-09-10
when it comes to soundbars Vizio has a number of excellent models and so it should follow that when it designs a speaker you put your TV on top of it should also be good but with the new video sound stand that is unfortunately not the case hi I'm ty Pendlebury and at $249 the Vizio is price is seemingly right and it has the features it expect including Bluetooth and optical digital inputs but sadly there are no HDMI ports the construction is plastic but it seems sturdy enough it's designed to hold 55 inch televisions and can support weights up to 60 pounds in addition to the main roughly three inch drivers the unit has an onboard subwoofer at 5.25 inches and it's this sub from where the problems arise at its default settings the sound bar is simply to bass-heavy in movies simple footfalls boom like timpani drums and every one sounds like Jeff Bridges even turning the bass down with the weird LED display doesn't help that much the sound quality is still muddy and brash when it shouldn't be music is a little better as is connectivity with Bluetooth but for only a little more money there are much better options from Pioneer and Sony this has been ty Pendlebury with the Vizio s2121 wd0 sound stand
