there's a new Raspberry Pi in town the
Raspberry Pi 2 model B here's what you
need to know about the new version of
this cheap versatile microcomputer the
PI 2 has a souped-up quad-core processor
clocked at 900 megahertz plus one
gigabyte of RAM its makers say it's
about 6 times faster than its
predecessor despite being a lot more
powerful the new Pi will cost the same
as the last model B port which is $35
you'll need to be quite technically
minded to set it up but if you're
willing to experiment that's a lot of
computing power for your money Microsoft
has confirmed there will be a free
Raspberry Pi compatible version of
Windows 10 it'll be a version that
brings developer tools so it won't be
for everyone but it'll be interesting to
see what the union of Windows 10 and
Raspberry Pi creates apply 2 is more
powerful but its connections are
unchanged you get a microSD card slots
four USB ports HDMI Ethernet as well as
other ports for plugging in accessories
or extra hardware this latest effort is
compatible with Raspberry Pi 1 boards so
apps or electronics built for the
original Raspberry Pi should still work
that's good news if you have existing PI
projects on the go
the PI 2 model B goes on sale today
Raspberry Pi is already one of the most
exciting things to happen to computing
in recent years so we can't wait to see
what new projects the PI 2 makes
possible
