hi guys this is Brian VIN it with
cnet.com we're taking a look at the new
touch this is the Start screen for
Windows Phone 8 this is actually running
on a Nokia Lumia 900 but it will be
available in the update seven point
eight that you can add to your existing
device sometime in the future so what
are the basic quick little features you
can do well one of the things you'll
notice is that the live tiles not take
up the whole screen so you're bringing
more information right to your
fingertips so you can see more stuff
right at a glance you also notice we
have three sizes of tiles small medium
and large and one of the great things is
that any of these tiles can now be made
any of those sizes by the end-user so as
the end user you're in charge of what
size tile runs on any application
third-party application first-party
applications a great new start screen
that will show more information right at
a glance and really make it easier for
you to personalize it and reflect the
things that you care about most cool and
it basically I can tell that more
information is shown as the tile gets
bigger if that app supports it in a way
it's almost like the Samsung TouchWiz
interface that does some of that stuff
but of course you probably won't agree
with that the only thing live tiles are
even cooler okay awesome
well there you have it we're looking at
the new start screen that will be part
of Windows Phone 8 but will be part of
an update to Windows Phone 7.8 that will
operate on existing Windows Phone
devices
