I've reviewed a lot of ovens that cost thousands of dollars yet give a really bad performance fortunately this GE gas oven actually does a good job and it only costs one thousand dollars now this range doesn't have some of the fancy bells and whistles you'll find on a more expensive oven the knobs are just so-so in terms of durability and there's not a lot of extra features but this oven does the basic jobs well this range also includes a cooktop with a built-in griddle now GE says that this griddle can fit six grilled cheese sandwiches so I put it to the test fortunately it did and gave the CNET office a pretty good lunch unfortunately though you have to keep this griddle on the cooktop so there's not a lot of flexibility in what you can do with this Center burner but if you find yourself cooking a lot of pancakes or bacon or grilled cheese this is a really good tool to have yeah this range isn't perfect I was a little disappointed in the roast chicken but that's mainly because this oven does not have a convection roast feature however with a thousand dollar price tag you still can't beat this overall performance that you'll get for your money
