if you're letting social media apps kill your monthly data plan you're doing it all wrong even if you have an unlimited data plan many carriers will start to throttle your speeds once you hit a threshold there are a lot of reasons why you might hit that threshold for me it's all about Facebook Instagram and snapchat all of these apps are data hogs but also all of these apps have settings that let you cut back on how much data they use on Instagram go to settings then cellular data use and enable use less data on Facebook the issue is autoplay videos go to the app and then go to more than settings account settings videos and photos and then autoplay make sure you have Wi-Fi connections only selected on snapchat launch the app and swipe down then tap the gear icon tap manage and then enable travel mode this way stories won't load in the background if you use those apps and you change those settings you'll see a huge difference in how much data you use but if you want to make sure other apps aren't also killing your data plan head over to settings then cellular and you'll see a list of apps and how much data they use and now you're doing it right
