ZTE gives CES its first look at the Eco-Mobius modular phone
2014-01-09
hello everybody I'm Lin LA from CNET and
I'm here in Las Vegas at CES 2014 and
right now we're going to check out some
tech of the future from ZTE and it's
called the Eco mobius modular phone now
this is a concept device coming out of
the company's R&D program in China and
it's basically a way to update your
phone component by component so you can
switch out your say 8 megapixel camera
lens for a 13 megapixel camera lens and
keep the same phone another example
could be say you're going on a road trip
and you know you're going to play a lot
of mobile games you could switch out
your GPU that you can use every day for
a more high-end and more powerful GPUs
other examples could be switching out
your RAM your ROM and even your mobile
processor now we've seen this idea from
other companies as well like foam block
and Motorola's are a project it's good
to see that ZTE is throwing in their hat
as well so who knows maybe this kind of
tech isn't that far from the future
again I'm Lynn and you've been checking
out ZTE Eco mobius modular phone
