today I'm at the CNET smart home taking
an updated look at the I devices switch
now on sale for 60 bucks at the I
devices online store as you can see the
exterior design is very slick and for
anyone who's comfortable with Apple
products this will feel very familiar
that's not a coincidence
iDevices is a home kit partner with
Apple which means that this is an iOS
exclusive the I devices switch is a
breeze to install and you can have it up
and running in under five minutes it
does what it's supposed to turning
products on and off but it also has a
customizable nightlight and with the
newest firmware updates you can do
energy tracking and you can remotely
access the switch all these components
in combination make this switch very
competitive
the iDevices app is one of the most
promising aspects of this product but
it's home kit integration can be a
little bit frustrating the apps
interface is intuitive and fun but user
sharing can take upwards of a few hours
and there aren't customizable
permissions that means either family
members can access everything or they
can't access anything if you're looking
for a smart switch this is one of the
best options out there plus despite any
complaints I have about home kit the
system is very high potential if you
need a smart switch this season or just
a last-minute holiday gift I would
definitely recommend this one for more
