today I'm looking at the new iDevices
switch which is open for pre-order on
the I devices website for $59.99 this is
a smart plug and as you can see it has a
nice sleek look to it for anybody who's
familiar with Apple products this will
feel very comfortable that's not a
coincidence
I devices as a home kit partner with
Apple that does mean that this is an iOS
exclusive device and an iOS exclusive
app as a smart plug the I devices switch
is pretty middle-of-the-road it does
what it's supposed to do it turns things
on and off it has a cool customizable
nightlight but there's no if
compatibility there's no energy
consumption tracking the home kick
compatible iDevices app is one of the
coolest aspects of this but it's also
one of its biggest drawbacks plus you
can't control the switches from outside
the Wi-Fi network which means that the
command combinations called scenes that
you program ahead of time can't execute
if you're not on the property although
this home kick compatible device could
be a solid product in six months I can't
really recommend it except for early
adopters of the home kit system or
anybody who's willing to troubleshoot or
just plain overlook some major problems
