Thermaltake Tt e-Sports Metal Key Caps Review

2014-08-06
hey everyone this is Steve from gamers Nexus time and today we're looking at visa thermaltake TT eSports metal T chops which if you look at the branding here metal is definitely done with its so metal in mind that's what we're looking at with these key caps today so this is actually a legitimate metal it is a zinc alloy key cap for your mechanical keyboard will work with cherry and kale switches as manufactured by Thermaltake and really any kale or cherry switch keyboard will work because they're all effectively the same cable is a very good Chinese replica of cherry and they're both that plus size switch cap so it will fit on all of those these caps because they're metal they are a bit thicker and they will rest a little bit higher than the rest of your key caps on your board this is potentially good or bad it might be bad if you're more of a typist but it's awesome if you're a gamer because you never really lose those keys not that you lose WASD anyway but they're kind of they're elevated a little higher they feel super solid when you push down on they're not dance my g7 10 plus I'm pointing to my keyboard as if you can see it but g7 10 plus is damped so the keys feel a lot quieter first of all and a little bit cheaper the plastic key caps definitely feel cheaper than these metal ones that we received from thermal tape now the thing with this is these are $20 that is a lot of money for five key caps WASD plus one extra which technically they say it's for escape I thought that was super lame so I put it on number one as in primary weapon in csgo so 20 bucks for five key caps feels a bit steep as a consumer I don't know that I would personally buy it if it was not sent to me for review but that's the price you really got to just make the decision how much do you want to bling out your keyboard what is that where it's just like anything else that's almost entirely aesthetic how much do you really want to pay to look cooler than everyone else and also does it actually look cooler or do you look like the scrub in the room because metal totally makes you run faster so that is the the product here these are called metal apps by tte sports I found them to be a bit more solid when gaming the elevated height is kind of cool when gaming but definitely undesirable when typing very long documents I would not recommend it for typist they do sell a 36 or whatever a key cap count for those of you who do want it on all of your base keys and that I believe runs out about $70 so a little expensive but better value in terms of the quantity and you can deck out your whole keyboard with it now one other option I want to mention here is you can buy all kinds of key caps for your boards including the very cool key caps that are game specific like dota or csgo now most of these are not licensed but you can find them on Etsy or on banggood I think is one website that sells yes no key caps despite the name sounded like a different type of website I would recommend looking into those if you want something very specific to your game if you want something that just looks cool and it's kind of versatile for all games and it's metal these have that solid feel they click really nicely they definitely they feel good when you push them down so I would recommend that investigating it $20 totally up to you I gotta let you guys decide on that I will see you all next time peace
