our coverage is brought to you by a
two-time case of the Year winner fantex
the always incredible Corsair and NCIX
we visited Moscone at CES and they've
launched and teased some new and fast
storage SSD solutions that use
conventional SATA aMDA to solder and
PCIe interfaces which were aimed at
dropping the dollar per gigabyte spot
and delivering impressive performance
their reactor one terabyte SSD sells for
$360 for one terabyte that's 36 cents
per gigabyte they are committed to
filling in that value market and this
sure is attractive a lot of brands mark
and included seem to be focusing more on
the m2 interface and the PCIe storage
solutions as well that brings us to this
prototype Hyperion MDOT - Drive it's
still in development but with over three
hundred thousand I ops and 2.8 gigabyte
per second reads and 1.2 gigabytes per
second write speeds
we are hoping Moscone to continue this
trend of infiltrating the value market
without too many compromises another
prototype they showed off was the
Scorpion XC that uses a stacked of 512
gigabyte boards using a Marvel
controller for a0 the drives are aimed
to be available from 980 gigabytes all
the way up to 4 terabytes at 50 cents
per gigabyte price point this looks like
it might be a 1/2 slot card just because
of the way the stacking is laid out it's
quite thick but we'll have to wait and
see until q3 of this year of the final
release of the Scorpion XC
