our coverage is brought to you by two-time case of the Year winner fan Tex the always incredible Corsair and NCIX so a gigabyte has never shied away from being front and center in the minds of the gaming consumer this year is no different displaying plenty of GPUs motherboards alongside the van an array of amazing custom builds and a crazy overclocking contest it is obvious who the target market really is they have carried this trend over to the new release of the P 37 X gaming notebook this latest gigabyte release features the latest Nvidia gtx 980m GPU that includes a whopping 8 gigs of VRAM that's insane the intel i7 has well powered system also features storage options that could include a pair of 512 gigabyte M SATA drives and the potential for 2 2 terabyte mechanical drives as well standing when the 17.3 inch 1080p display which is IPS by the way the P 37 x packs the capability to run some of the most demanding triple-a titles out today the display is an IPS like I mentioned with very good viewing angles with a matte coating so there is some reflections but nowhere near from what you might get with a glass cover the chassis is twenty-two point five millimeters thick so it is very compact considering the hardware and the 17.3 inch form factor the keyboard has programmable macro keys on the left that our backlit plus a full backlit keyboard that does exhibit some flags in the middle of the party one cool consideration is the optical drive at the front of the chassis instead of the common right side position to save out in space in this place we find a mini display port a couple of USB 3 HDMI and VGA and the power input while the left side features a couple of USB 3 ports Gigabit Ethernet and an SD card reader along with audio jacks the power however does not come by compromising portability as gigabyte is claiming this to be the lightest 17 inch notebook for its class and we can attest to how light it is and it probably wouldn't be an issue of carrying it around this much power and awesomeness does come at a cost however the P 37 X is expected for q2 release at around $2,000
