Rear Sway Bar Bushing Replacement Jeep Grand Cherokee

2012-08-08
this videos how to repair the back bushings on the on the sway bar so the sway bar you can see it's kind of disconnected right next to my channel locks there and then the bottom bolt is I'm trying to get off right now the bottom bolt here is a 15 millimeter on the stock bushings the replacement bushings are like six box it's a 14 millimeter basically how that works well nut comes off and all these are in parts right here so you can see the half of it will go here half that will go here and then the other half will go up and above and below the sway bar end so it's kind of cool so I got the other bushing out and I've disassembled the entire bushing this coming like little parts like that so I put the top part in and we'll slide this part up and on to it then that metal circle thing right there then I'll start with the bottom part and then kind of assemble the whole thing like that okay so the bushings simple down there and I just got tighten up the bottom it should bring the whole thing into into sync then the Bush in place pretty straightforward pretty simple okay so we're starting with the other Shing we're going to break a bar what you can do is you can take a wrench put it on the top so it kind of leaned against the tire back there as you can see and take your ratchet attach it to the bottom end right there and you can extend your ratchet with just a regular wrench attached onto the end like that and you can wrote the whole thing rotate the whole thing a lot easier with that much more leverage and it keeps the top bolt from spinning on because of that other wrench over there so works up pretty well okay so this bushing wasn't spinning the top nut and bottom that's been independently of each other so what I did is I took a pair of these a locking pliers and I clamped it on the end of the bolt there then on the other end up there on the far side you can see I have my ratchet I use my same no wrench extending trick and extended the reach of it and with the clamp on the bottom and extended reach on the top I was able to twist the top of that off as well
