hey guys john r Ettinger with John four
Lakers comm here you've been following
any of my recent videos you know I made
the switch to HD and you might also know
that I struggled with it a little bit as
far as audio issues the regular quality
video is played fine the video was
synced up with the picture you were
seeing no issues but when you hit the
watch in HD button the idea was like 10
seconds behind 5 seconds behind it just
wasn't synched up and it did not look
right at all so I did a little bit of
digging I was able to figure out what
the problem was I figure I had this
problem maybe you guys are having me too
or you maybe you know somebody that is
and hopefully this will help so I'm
going to show you how to export movies
from iMovie in HD and get them uploaded
to YouTube without any audio seeking
issues so they look fantastic in
YouTube's new high-definition format so
first thing that you're going to need is
iMovie oh wait iMovie Oh 6 or iMovie HD
won't really cut it so I'm gonna go
ahead and open it up right here so
here's a project that I had already
opened its the t-mobile g1 unboxing that
I just recently posted so go to file new
project make sure you have a 16 by 9
aspect ratio select did you have a few
other options about you really want to
make sure you have 16 by 9 go ahead and
hit create I'm gonna hit cancel since I
already have one open here
so go ahead and do your editing anything
you would normally do with your video
next go to share export using Quicktime
now this is where things can get a
little bit squirrely but if you follow
this along and you pause it and make
sure your settings match up you won't
have any issues so call it whatever
you'd like make sure you select export
using MPEG 4 go ahead and hit options so
here's we really need to make sure
you're following along here file format
needs to be mp4 video make sure that's
selected there mpeg-4 basic data rate
5000 image size 1280 by 720 HD framerate
use current and four frames use 24
there's a summation of the video right
down here so make sure you guys copy
that and make sure that that's what you
have on your video as well so next we'll
hit audio
I do a format AAC - LLC data rate 320
channel stereo output sample rate 4800
and encoding quality better and again
here's a real quick sample of what
everything should look like go ahead and
hit OK hit save and you guys will be
good to go it'll export your video and
you can upload it to YouTube just like
any other video but be prepared that HD
takes up a little bigger size and it'll
take a little bit longer to upload just
a friendly heads-up so hopefully this
will help some of you solve your audio
synching problems I know it certainly
helped me took a lot of digging but was
able to get a solution to it so hope you
guys enjoyed be sure to check out the
