hey what's up everyone this is Todd
Hazleton for mobile world congress in
barcelona we're here checking out the
brand new Lumia 640 XL one of two phones
microsoft announced today in addition to
the Lumia 640 this is the xle extra
large version that's because it has a
5.7 inch display as opposed to the
5-inch display on the Lumia 640 you're
looking at a 1280 by 720 pixel
resolution and Windows Phone 8.1 right
now although Microsoft promised this
morning that they're going to update it
to Windows 10 for phones sometime in the
future when that's ready so quickly
let's just go through the device under
the hood you have a Snapdragon 400
processor clocked at 1.2 gigahertz
that's a quad-core chip right here you
have a Carl Zeiss Cameron module it's 13
megapixels with a single LED flash and
then the speaker module right there and
then of course the Microsoft branding is
supposed to nokia now up top a 3.5
millimeter headphone jack nothing on the
left hand side of the phone on the
bottom you have a micro USB port and on
the right you have the volume controls
in the power button but for whatever
reason Microsoft's ditching the
dedicated camera button which at one
point in time was actually a requirement
for windows phones and up front here you
have a 5 megapixel camera for selfies we
also have under the hood 8 gigabytes of
storage you can expand that up to 128
gigabytes with a microSD card i also
have a gig of ram and then this comes
with free one drive storage too i
believe 8 gigabytes to get you going
just wanted to give you a quick look
here it's a new phablet great for
Windows Phone users they want something
a little larger and it should be out
sometime in April this is Todd Hazleton
