Gaming on Core i5 Mac Mini (July 2011)

2011-08-01
what's going on guys johnathan here with TLD this is probably one of the more requested videos I've got out of you guys and that is gaming on in 2011 Mac Mini now this is the baseline 2.3 gigahertz Core i5 dual core CPU with two gigs of RAM a 500 gig 5400 rpm hard drive and the Intel HD 3000 and and great graphics now first and foremost if I try to throw any anti-aliasing on this at all it starts to lag like crazy now keep in mind this pushing a 27-inch 2560 by 1440 monitors going Thunderbolt cable from the Mac Mini into my iMac and if I keep it off it runs fairly well it does lack a little bit so overall this is definitely not a game machine if you use it on a big monitor if you are looking to pick up a Mac Mini I definitely would recommend a step up to the next model with the dedicated 6630 AMD card and that's only really if you already have a keyboard mouse and modern because other than that if you're gonna go buy that stuff separately it makes more sense to buy an iMac for a couple hundred bucks more at $11.99 you get a big 21 and a half inch screen full 1920 by 1080 and you get a quad-core CPU with a much better video card so this is a little bit of mini buying advice inside the video so I'm going to close this video out you guys can see some more of my crabby plane I am by no means a gamer but you guys did request this video so I want to do that for you guys and I'll catch you guys later we should just break it out
