How To Turn Your Wii U Gamepad into a TV Remote! (Demo & Interface Tour)

2012-11-20
what's up guys Kevin here with TLD just want to give you guys a quick overview on the Wii U's current capabilities as a media device so the way you gives you the option of using your gamepad as controller for both your television and cable or satellite provider and while it can be a bit tedious to set up it is actually very simple to do all you need to do is go to the settings on your Wii U Select TV remote then you just have to try each signal associated with that company until one works rather than look up an individual model number once that's done you can now use the gamepad as a simple remote device allowing you to turn on your TV and cable box change channels volume and inputs and search guides using the controllers analog pad well it doesn't give you controller for every single aspect of your television experience it does make it very easy to switch between gaming and just standard television watching in addition to TV controls a lot of the streaming standards have also made their way over the Wii U including Hulu Plus YouTube and Netflix though at this moment Netflix is the only one of these services currently available Nintendo also has plans to make Nintendo TV available which will allow users to integrate all available video resources on the television and Wii U into one movie and show browsing experience including the ability to look up info via Wikipedia and IMDB but we will have to wait till sometime in December to actually give that a try well this is just a quick look at what media options we have on the Wii U so far Netflix is about the same as you'd see on any other console and well not something I feel compelled to use often the remote options do make for a very fluid transition between TV and gaming make sure to subscribe if you haven't yet to stay up to date on all of the new Wii U vids we're doing and more and if you missed out on our unboxings of both the Wii U sets check those out right here as always guys I'm Kevin for tald thanks for watching and I'll see you next time
