Soul Calibur V : First Impressions w/ Gameplay

2012-01-31
what's up guys kevin here with TLD bringing my first our impressions of soul calibur 5 for the xbox 360 and ps3 I have to say well I've only been able to play for about an hour so far and I've only focused on the store mode I'm very happy with the number of the changes that have taken place in this entry overall the game feels just a little faster than prior entries and the addition of a meter allows for a number of new options in combat one of the additions that first made me skeptical is that now characters have super moves which I thought would be out of place considering the way the game is normally play however it's been implemented really well and doesn't feel like it's too overpowered and a lot of the animations are nice and short so it doesn't interrupt the flow of battle too much now one of the biggest pleasant surprises for me however was the game's story mode which actually seems to have taken a small cue from Mortal Kombat and that actually has a real story mode well not every scene is done in the form of a cutscene there are a lot of still frames with just words attached to them and voice acting it still actually has a cohesive overall plot line instead of just having fight after fight after fight with a random ending scene now first this is only for my first hour of play and I've only gotten a chance to play the story mode and do a little bit of vs. against the computer I'll let you guys know more once I've had a chance to finish more modes and have clocked a lot more playtime with more characters as always guys thanks for watching your vids if you got a chance yet make sure watch my unboxing for the soul calibur 5 collector's edition as well as the final fantasy 13 2's collector's edition and if you want to be extra awesome make sure that like button and I'll see you guys next time
