hi my name is Mike I am the product line manager for La Sportiva in North America new for spring 2018 is the blade GTX this is a mid duty waterproof boot built with speed and efficiency in mind with crossover applications for fast packing and mountain running the blade GTX has the LA Sportiva friction 82.0 rubber compound on the outsole which is great for hard wearing and longer lasting durability the differentiated lug patterns from the heel through the mid foot the impact break system and the trail by teal all offer maximum traction on steep ascents descents rocky and rudy terrain for the upper the medial and lateral mud guards offer increased protection from variable conditions in extreme weather air mesh upper is highly breathable while the gore-tex extended lining offers extreme waterproofness the flux guard insert on the cuff allows a nice and precise fit while allowing the boot to move in stride with you available now at a local La Sportiva retailer the blade GTX is available in sizes 7 to 13 and 1/2 for men and 5 and a half to 11 for women you hundred starting at the front of the pack in the middle there's a small zippered pouch perfect for map or trail snacks working down the front of the pack you'll find daisy chain loops perfect for carrying gear externally also notice the bright orange u-shaped zipper which provides access to the main compartment now moving to the base of the pack there are two buckle compression straps we've included these to carry a tent sleeping pad or other large items you want to carry externally just above the compression straps are two hidden gear loops which can pull out when in use for carrying an ice ax or similar item but tuck away when you're not using them there are also two large gear loops at either side of the base of the pack now taking a look at the side of the pack you'll notice two buckle and compression straps once again there's that big u-shaped zipper giving you access to the main compartment also notice that the upper compression strap buckles in underneath the loop to keep it secure and at the bottom there's a stretch mesh pocket perfect for carrying water bottle or trail snacks and there's an elastic barrel lock gear loop up top taking a look at the other side there are two more buckle and compression straps and a second mesh pocket notice the configuration is the same on this side and there's another elastic barrel lock gear tie now taking a look at the back of the pack there's a small zippered pouch that holds the included tarp poncho which is great for keeping you dry on those rainy days and doubles as an emergency shelter and the rope tarp you can see here that the u-shaped zipper moves from the front of the bag to the back of the pack giving you multiple angles to access the interior of the pack also included at the very top is a hydration tube port there's a handle for carrying and to up the load adjusters on the shoulder straps there are two pieces of elastic webbing which hold the hydration bladder tube in place and an anti-shock sternum strap with safety whistle buckle behind that is a dual cushion harness with a center air channel to keep your back nice and cool at the base is an ultra padded lumbar region attached to the lumbar support is a waist belt which feature is split wishbone construction on the left side are two gear loops and on the other side a small zipper pouch great for your phone or keys now let's take a look at the interior of the talus 2700 first undo the 2 side compression straps which will then allow you to unzip the pack providing access to the main compartment this opening provides full access to all of your gear inside notice the hydration bladder sleeve and red velcro tab at the top for holding your hydration
