basically today we have something
launching that is kind of confusing
we've got a new socket from Intel it is
socket 1156 and it features core i5 and
core i7 CPUs now the core i5 doesn't
have hyper threading but the core i7
does we used to have a core i7 that fit
on socket 1366 but this is not the same
thing it uses the same architecture so
you're going to get a lot of the same
performance but there are a few key
differences basically you've got support
for only dual channel memory now instead
of triple channel memory and instead of
support for SLI and crossfire with 16 X
16 X bandwidth we've only got support
for 8 X 8 X bandwidth now in real world
terms that's going to not make much of a
performance difference but it may matter
if you're running very high-end cards so
thank you for tuning in to our one
minute overview of socket 1156
