Linus tech tips coverage of CES 2015 is brought to you by phantom glass visit store dot phantom dot glass for the best darn screen protectors out there as well as hyperx now one of the main focus is that the intel booth isn't strictly speaking a product that you buy like it intel realsense g520 take you or anything like that it's a technology that they want to see embedded in devices that will enable new kinds of functionality so what it is in essence is a depth sensing camera technology as well as the processing voodoo magic that goes on behind it so they've got our whack tenant demos here including in no particular order some short range stuff like one where they scan your face and print you your very own 3d laser etched prism block thing with your face in it they can also capture your face and throw it on a snowboarder for example so we got me thrown onto a snowboarder making a silly face it only took about I don't know 20 30 seconds to get my face candid boom instant avatar short range cameras can also be used for things like gesture control so there was one that takes a whole bunch of different points on your hand that allows you to make gestures to control the game so I can control the ship by moving my hand around clenched a fire release to stop firing and peace sign to fire the old peacekeeper missile at the enemies they've also got long-range solutions so these are more useful for like whole body whole body imaging so with this one you can actually go ahead and sort of strike a pose and they've got an array of cameras as well as a couple of different versions of screens here that allow you to make a little snowman of yourself or stand and be like a galactic body blowing up asteroids and all kinds of cool stuff like that and then of course there's going to be the more well practical stuff that most people are going to find more useful on on a day to day basis so for example gestures when interacting with your PC being able to write in the air it's all fairly early stages right now but is an extreme really exciting piece of technology for the future and we had a lot of fun hanging around at the intel booth just playing around with all the cool dentals leaned back and forth to move your character down a run awesome stuff speaking of awesome stuff I want to give a huge shout out to our sponsors here phantom blast these guys make awesome screen protectors they're strong they're clear they're super easy to apply you can visit store dot phantom glass to learn more also hyperx their youtube channel has a lot of great gaming content visited at youtube.com slash hyperx got links to both of those in the video description also make sure you're subscribed so you don't miss any of our CES 2015 content and that's it we are on to the next big thing here at the show
