what's up guys David here and I'm here
at CES 2015 checking out the all-new G
flex 2 which LG just announced here at
the show as the name of the device
implies this is LG's second iteration of
its curved smartphone series and
December round LG fixed a lot of the
issues that made the original G flex
somewhat unappealing for starters the
middle screen smaller down from the six
inches to a more reasonable 5.5 they
upgraded the display to a 1080p p LED
display and they also tone down the
curviness of the device just enough to
make it a bit more practical underneath
the hood you have core comms new
Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core
processor 2 or 3 gigabytes of RAM
depending on the model you end up
getting a three thousand million battery
along with a 13 megapixel rear camera
with laser autofocus and optical image
stabilization the G flex 2 comes running
with LG's modified you I over top of
Android lollipop and features the same
rear button design that most of LG's
recent Spock ships have had but
obviously the main thing that stands out
about this phone and the thing that
separates it from all the others is its
curved design now why would you want a
curved phone right and at this point I
don't know exactly why you'd want one
but I do have some things that I think a
curved phone can possibly bring to the
table like being easier to hold in the
hand resting more naturally on your face
when you're on a call being a bit more
immersive when watching videos are
playing video games like the curved TVs
do nowadays and then finally it may
actually make the phone a little bit
more durable now I know when you first
look at it you may not think that the
curve would make the phone more durable
if anything the curve looks like it
leaves it susceptible to cracking if we
were to get sit or stepped on but the G
flex 2 does have the word flex in its
name so it's designed to be able to bend
back and forth without causing any real
damage and that curve may just reduce
the risk of the screen cracking from an
accidental face front drop as the
display itself wouldn't be hitting the
floor with the top and bottom bezels of
the phone taking the majority
the impact instead acid at the
self-healing back that LG introduced
last year with the original G flex now
improved to work even faster healing
itself from minor scratches and scuffs
in only 10 seconds and you have what
looks to be a pretty durable foam in
theory at least the G flex 2 will be
hitting stores on a couple of months we
don't have an official launch date just
yet but you can be sure that when it
does officially launch will be featuring
it here on the channel maybe see what
that Snapdragon 810 can do in a fumble
style speed test and maybe even test the
phone's durability so if you haven't
already subscribed to the channel to
make sure you don't miss out on that
content but other than that that is
pretty much it for me in this video
thank you guys for watching and as
always I will see you guys in the very
next episode
