MX Player Android App Review

2012-05-09
hey guys david here from pump up calm and in this video i'm doing an app review on the app called MX player available from the Google Play Store for free for the lite version and five dollars and sixty cents for the pro version so I think eyes may know if you follow the blog I only do app reviews on apps that I actually use on my phone and MS players definitely one of them so I actually uninstalled it really quick to show you why I download it in the first place and that's because MX player supports more file types in the stock video put it out so for example all these albums have videos that are supported by the Galaxy Nexus or Ice Cream Sandwich by default but I have some videos over here which were transferred over from one of my cameras like a canon camera that don't work on the Galaxy Nexus so if I try to play this guy for example on the video player you can see it says sorry the video cannot be played so hit okay I'm just going to exit out of there and now I'm going to go ahead and download the MX player app from the market so are the Google Play Store so I'm gonna hit install hit accept and download and I will let this guy download really quick alright so it's done downloading I'm gonna go ahead and go back to my home screen I'm gonna go right back into my gallery and this time I'm gonna try to open that same video but this time with MX player and you'll see that it works so the the MX player supports a whole bunch of file types let me go ahead and go to the apps page really quick and show you some of the file types out of supports so let me go into description and you know you can see it supports all these different subs all these formats like give X you know of course avi and m34 and things like that but this is definitely an app to try if you're trying to play a certain video on your phone and it doesn't work I'll go ahead and load up another video and show you some of the features that the player itself has other than you know being able to support the videos that you have on your phone so let's go ahead and play this video really quick choose MX player and what's cool is you could actually control the player with your fingers by sight by doing swiping gesture for example if I want to rewind I can just swipe my finger over and you can see I could actually choose how far I want to fast-forward or rewind so I want to go back to two seconds and it restarts the video if I wanted to make the volume higher or lower I can just swipe on the right side of the screen down so let me swipe down you can see the volume goes down and up if I wanted to make the brightness lower or higher I decide upon the left side and go lower and higher and then of course if I wanted to just pause the video I could use these controls over here I can lock it I can also do things such as making the video stretch to fit the whole screen I could make the video just the the native resolution at 100% and this is shot on my five microscope camera at 720p on my Windows Phone so obviously on the 720p display on the Galaxy Nexus it's actually this size so it's actually nice to be able to fit it to the screen or even stretch it to take up more of the screen and you know overall I'm just I'm really happy with the device or I'm sorry the player I feel like it's you know has a lot of options even on the the light version or the free version you can go to these settings and you can see it is optimized for Ice Cream Sandwich so you know everything looks like it would on Ice Cream Sandwich app I'll go through some of the settings really quick you go to player and adjust the touch controls if you wanted and you can make it you know resume where you play the video last so for example I can go right back to that video again so let's go home we'll go back to my my gallery really quick and let me get back go back so I'll just play another video really quick so I'll play this video use MX player again alright now we'll go back and I can go back to that same video that I was watching before and you'll notice that it'll actually resume it if I wanted to I'll exactly the spot in which I left side resume and you can see it literally picked up right where I left off so another great feature let's go back to the settings alright let me tilt this guy really quick alright so those are the the player settings you can also change the settings for the decoder you could go ahead and you know look at the general settings and clear the history or the thumbnail cache so it's really a loaded player I mean I definitely recommend it I love the touch controls and I love the fact that I could play any video pretty much that I have on my phone right on it or if I transfer from my camera or from another phone and then lastly my favorite or one of my favorite features is the fact that it resumes the video right where I played it and gives you the option of not only to resume it where I want it but to start over if I wanted to um that's pretty much it for me in this video and the review on the MX player like I said I definitely recommend you download it it's free you have nothing to lose and that's pretty much it if you found this video helpful hit the like point and subscribe and don't forget to visit Bombo comm or cell phone use reviews and how to's thank you
