as we wrap up Etha 2014 we have one more
smartphone to show you from the show
floor in Berlin from a brand we don't
see all that often in the United States
let's take a look at a review device
from Acer the new liquid Jade the liquid
Jade is a mid-range Android smartphone
with its primary setoffs being extreme
lightweight and a low-profile feel in
the pocket when we popped open the box
we found the usual offerings in terms of
literature and accessories with the high
point of course being the earbuds we're
always pleased to see included for no
additional cost the Jade itself
resembles an iPhone 3G with its super
glossy back panel remember that phone
but at 110 grams and 7.5 millimeters
thick with sharply tapered edges it's
much slimmer and lighter than most
mid-range Android phones something helps
along by the super thin bezels as well
Acer's distinctive circular style touch
is present here too with earpiece Dolby
speaker port and the protruding 13
megapixel camera rounding out the
situation somewhat the display is an IPS
panel plenty bright enough for Android
4.4 and driven by a mediatek processor
and a gig of ram and there's microSD
support for fleshing out the eight gigs
of internal storage - how well the 2100
milliamp hour battery lasts under that
load isn't clear but we'll have more
thoughts after we spend some more time
with this device the liquid Jade
launches in Europe later this September
for a full rundown of every mobile
device we got our hands on it even 2014
check out PocketNow weekly episode 112
published just today and stay tuned for
our Eva 2014 wrap-up coming later this
week til next time this has been michael
fisher with taylor martin for pocket now
from Berlin we'll see you soon
