hey guys it's Brandon mini-myth from pocket now calm some smartphone operating systems that support multi-touch also support a gesture that you may not have used before I call it the pinch and pen let me give you an example of some of these devices that have it while others don't it's best exemplified on the iPhone so let me unlock it here and here we are in the browser now obviously when you're in the browser you can pinch your fingers to get in on an area and then you can use one finger to pan around on the screen well did you know you can actually combine those gestures and actually pinch and pen at the same time this is just basically this just saves you a little bit of time and energy having to get precise and moving on on an area so let's say I want to zoom in on this area the old method I'd have to pinch and then slide my finger but the new method the pinch and pen if I bring it in and in one shot I'm where I want to go let's take a look at the other smartphone operating system so let's look at Android which as you're going to see in a second does not have support for this feature so I can pinch faster pinching then on the iPhone but I'm dragging two fingers along and it's not panning it's just zooming in and out more so Android does not have that capability and let's check webOS ok webOS actually does it this is the Palm Pre Plus and it's not acting it's not being happy today it's kind of choppy and slow let me see if I can show you so I can pinch okay so pinch and pan see I'm moving it with two fingers so it has a functionality again I'm not sure why the Palm Pre Plus isn't being fast today and then the hd2 in Opera we can pinch but we can't do the two finger pen the pinch in pen we can only do you know pinch and then move around with one finger so the iPhone and webOS support this interesting feature if you haven't used it before give it a try it really really helps you to be more precise when moving around on a photo or on a website just something nice to keep in mind so that's it for now with the pinch and head
