it's a beefy brick with a spotty history
and an overachieving sibling so how does
samsung's latest active hold up the
answer in PocketNow 62nd smartphone
review starting right now so here's
what's hot the active brings milspec and
ip68 organization to go with it stuff
looks meaning it can handle impact heat
drowning cold and almost any other
danger it's likely to encounter it's got
the beautiful display and fantastic
camera that made the galaxy s6 so
popular and it's got a battery that can
outlast many other phones on the market
here's what's not hot
Samsung ditched the fingerprint scanner
to toughen up the home keys and that
makes the phone turn on more easily in a
pocket to the speaker is rear firing and
takes a long time to dry out and so does
the USB port which leads to weird
situations sometimes also the software
is still a little wonky in general and
it's an AT&T exclusive here in the
States so you might need to switch
carriers to get it the upshot this is
the best active Samsung's ever made and
it's one of the best rugged phones
available period if you're more
concerned with endurance and durability
than looks
this should be very near the top of your
smartphone shopping list for eight more
minutes on the Galaxy s6 active check
