if you've been around the mobile world
long enough you've seen your share of
portable keyboards but you've never seen
one like this before
i'm michael fisher with pocket now and
this is a quick hands-on with the lg
Roly okay so it's not the full QWERTY
layout that sets the Rolly apart really
the more conventional a QWERTY keyboard
is that is the closer it gets to a
traditional desktop keyboard the better
and here Roly does a nice job while it's
a little cramped up by the top edge and
the unconventional arrow keys take some
getting used to it's a pretty
comfortable board to type on with a 17
millimeter key pitch and fairly
satisfying travel and feedback
what sets Rolly apart are it's pieces of
flair the fold-out arms on the top edge
that support everything from large
smartphone to 10-inch tablet the three
month battery life powered by a single
triple-a battery the Bluetooth 3.0
connection that can swap typing duties
between phone and tablet at the press of
a button and of course it's foldability
like the name implies you just roll the
keyboard up when you're done with it and
slip it into a bag or less comfortably a
pocket it's a very novel very creative
little product and it's cool to see a
brand like LG having fun in the
accessory space whether that novelty
will justify its price point remains to
be seen as LG has yet to announce
pricing or availability but we do know
the Rolly will go on sale starting in
the US this month with other markets
following thereafter for much more from
Aoife 2015 stay tuned to pocket now here
on YouTube and watch for updates at
pocketnow.com till next time this has
been Michael Fisher from Berlin and
Captain to phones on Twitter see you on
the next one
