hey guys it's brandon minimun from pocketnow.com iphone apps have always been able to run on the ipad trouble is they run in hvga resolution on the ipad 2 in the ipad 1 which makes them look really bad especially when you blow them up to double size the ipad 3 the new ipad has changed the way iphone apps are handled so that they actually look quite good on the retina display let's take a look at how okay so here's google voice and we're gonna bring up google voice over here and you can see right away that what we're getting here is 960 x 540 resolution over here it's hvga which is 480 x 320 if you blow it up to two times this looks extremely bad on the new ipad it still looks kind of fuzzy but definitely not nearly as bad as it does on the old iPad because it's using its starting from that higher resolution rather than starting from starting from the lower resolution let's check out another app broke quick we're going to check out doodle jump so go over here of course doodle jump is an ipad game as well as iphone but we're going to open the iphone game just to demonstrate this alright so we're going to actually just go into let's go right into the play screen and hopefully you can see this on the screen but over here on the ipad 2 it looks really bad we blow it up to two times and wow there's so much pixelation over here it's starting all very crisp and clear you blow it up two times and it looks probably as good as it looks on the iphone adjust obviously a little bit blown up so huge differences in how the new ipad treats iphone apps which is great if you've got an iphone app that you can it still hasn't been released for the ipad at least it can look a lot better on the new ipad
